Play Works has been supporting children, families and communities, across West Lothian, since 1988. We are established, playful & adventurous.

From our beginnings at Broxburn Family Centre, we opened The Range Playground in 1997, followed by Simply Play in 2010, the Dale Hub in 2013 and Playbase in 2017. In 2022 we brought everything together under the name Play Works.

We believe that play works for children, for families and for communities and we know, from research and our own experience, that a range of play and adventurous activities, benefit children greatly and improve their wellbeing and outcomes.

We work towards our Vision by supporting and inspiring, children and their families, by building relationships with them and using play-based activities that provides Awesome Childhood Experiences, which create life long memories.

We also provide opportunities to bring local communities together, to enjoy their local spaces, encourage them to play and to bring joy and fun into their lives.

Our settings are friendly, fun, stimulating, safe and challenging, with an element of supported and managed risk. We encourage children and their parents/carers, to enjoy outdoor play (in all weathers).

Our professional staff build strong, positive relationships with our children and parents and do not work to pre-determined timescales: we are there for our families as long as they need us.
