Create homemade instruments from scrap. Play music as a group. Learn about instruments and music from around the world, while working towards a recognised Arts Award.

Children taking part will have the fantastic opportunity to have fun and express themselves, create something as a group, and come away with a certificate* to show for it. These sessions are for enthusiastic committed children, between 6 and 11 years of age, who may get the chance to perform later in the year!

The first session is on Monday 23rd October 2017 and there are six sessions in total (each session runs 1-4pm).

You will need to attend at least four of the following dates to earn your certificate:

  • Wednesday 25th October
  • Friday 27th October
  • Monday 30th October
  • Wednesday 1st November
  • Friday 3rd November

The sessions are FREE, but we only have space for 20 participants.

About the organisers

Beth Morley — Project Co-ordinator
I started my working life in the world of recycling and waste. Developing and delivering community engagement, education and behavioural change projects at Nottingham City Council. Projects included feeding 5000 of Nottingham City’s Residents in one afternoon with food surplus and bringing a one of a kind art exhibition ‘Trash to Treasure’ to Nottingham. In my spare time I set up a local stay and play group and also work on Sneinton Festival organising committee. I joined PlayWorks this year and love working with the inventive and dedicated staff as well as the imaginative children!
